Rain Forecast This week

by | Aug 13, 2024 | Weather | 0 comments

Heavy and persistent rainfall is set to impact parts of eastern QLD and northeast NSW this week, as moisture laden easterly winds stream onto the coast.

Weatherzone’ Ashleigh Madden says moist easterly winds will transport a deep layer of moisture into NSW and QLD with a low-pressure trough moving closer to the southeast QLD coast this week, triggering heavy rainfall in the region.

Ms Madden says some computer models suggest parts of southeast QLD and northeast NSW will be the hardest hit, while another suggests the heaviest falls will remain on the coast and offshore.

Showers are forecast for most of the week for the region with the best chance of rain for Inverell falling today and on Friday.
