Inverell Shire Council has advised roadworks scheduled for this week on the Gwydir Hwy at Delungra has been postponed to next week following heavy rain in the district.

Commencement of works will now be Tuesday 8th April, for approximately 2 weeks, weather permitting.

The upgrade area will be a section of the highway between Coolatai St and west of reedy St with the highway closed during the works at the intersecting streets within the section.

Inverell Shire Council advise due to the nature of the project, residents along Inverell St, will not have access to their driveways while the section affecting their property is being upgraded adding it is recommended that residents prepare to use rear access where available.
