The North West Mower Racing Association is set to hold another racing event this year after the success of the INVY 500 race on the June Long Weekend.
The ‘Race for a Cure’ is a charity racing event being held over the Saturday and Sunday of the October Long Weekend on the 5th and 6th October, with all money raised going towards Motor Neuron Disease research.
North West Mower Racing Association Treasurer and event organizer Craig Wilkins says the idea behind raising money for the cause was a logical one, given that one of the racing members as well as the association’s timekeeper suffer from some form of Motor Neuron Disease.
Along with the regular singles, twins and outlaw categories held on the day, a special celebrity event will also be held for some of the town’s public figures.
