Local footy clubs continue to prepare for their various season with a couple of trial games being held this weekend.
The Inverell Hawks will host the Dungowan Cowboys at Kamilaroi Oval in three grades tomorrow from 2:15pm with Ladies League tag, U18s and 1st grade matches scheduled.
1st grade Coach Jamie McCormack says the players are itching to get some match practice in before the season kicks off on April 5th.
Meantime the Inverell Highlanders head to Coffs Harbour tomorrow for their first hit out of the year and have another practise match scheduled in early April against Walcha.
The Tingha Tigers will stroll out for the only pre-season hit out against the Grafton Ghosts on the 29th March at Bob Ward Oval at Tingha.
Club President Brayden Vickery says they’ll be extra interest in a Ladies tackle match which he says seems to growing in popularity in the region.
Reigning Men’s and Women’s AFL Northwest premiers, the Inverell Saints will have a practice match against the Goondiwindi Hawks on Saturday April 12th at Varley Oval.
