Essential Energy crews responded quickly to an unplanned power outage in Inverell on the weekend.
Electricity network protection equipment operated automatically after detecting a fault, switching power off to 327 homes and businesses for safety reasons around 7.40pm on Saturday evening (13 July).
Crews carried out a patrol of the electricity network however no fault was found. After ensuring it was safe to do so, power was restored to all customers by 9.25pm.
It is likely that wildlife coming into contact with the high voltage electricity network caused the outage, which affected customers east of Inverell.
Essential Energy thanks customers for their patience as crews worked to restore power for customers as quickly and safely as possible and reminds customers to report power outages by calling their 24-hour outages line on 13 20 80.
