Gwydir Shire Council have announced a new pool pump for the Warialda War Memorial Pool has been ordered and is expected to arrive within the next 7 days.
It comes after the pool was expected to be filled last week and ready for use during the summer season, however the pump failed which could not be repaired and had to be replaced.
The replacement pump, which weighs approximately 500kg and requiring a crane to place the pump, is expected to be installed from mid next week and will involve removing part of the roof of the pump shed, with works to be undertaken by a contractor.
A date for the opening of the Warialda pool will be announced shortly after the pump has been installed, while the Bingara pool is expected to be open from today.
