Inverell Police are seeking details from anyone who witnessed a high-speed police chase through the region last Wednesday afternoon including dashcam footage which may lead to the identification of the driver involved in the incident.
Just before 4pm, police were patrolling east on Guyra Rd towards Tingha when they sighted a Black Ford Fiesta bearing NSW registration CYI:62N travelling west bound.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle continuing along Guyra Rd towards Bundarra Rd reaching high speeds, then turning right onto Bundarra Rd heading towards Gilgai school zone causing police to terminate the pursuit for safety concerns.
Police made further sightings of the vehicle as it continued along Schwenkes Lane, Old Bundarra Rd, Wynne St, Harland St, Gwydir Hwy, and Jardene Rd and had attempted to deploy road spikes which were unsuccessful on Yetman Rd.
The vehicle was eventually located in Bennett Street in Inverell with a male later arrested hiding inside a residence regarding outstanding arrest warrants.
