Investigations are continuing into a shooting incident in Armidale on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to Niagara St just before 3:30 following reports of shots being fired.

Police were told a 19 year old man had been approached by another man who fired several shot at the teen, who sustained leg and groin wounds.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Armidale hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established with police doorknocking the area and viewing CCTV footage from the area.
