New England Police are currently focusing on operation Armour II, which relates to completing firearm safe storage inspections for community members that have registered firearms.
Police will be contacting licensed firearm holders to arrange inspections of their firearm safes.
Inverell Police Inspector Blake Keating reminds licensed firearm holders of their obligations to comply with firearm safe storage regulations adding any safes found non-compliant, or any breaches of safe storage requirements could result in the seizure of firearms and suspension of licenses.
