Motorists could feel pain at fuel bowsers with petrol prices likely to rise according to the NRMA.
NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury told Yahoo Finance that oil prices had been fluctuating but despite a lack of movement in regional petrol prices, to date, they’re starting to see movement in the cycle.
Mr Khoury says with petrol prices rising in major cities, they’re seeing the trend movements in places like Newcastle, Central Coast, and Illawarra
He says with average prices in cities sitting at $1.82 and $1.80 per litre respectively, petrol prices are expected to rise above $2 per litre, which could mean an extra $20 to fill up a standard tank.
Recently the ACCC encouraged motorists to use free fuel price apps and websites to shop around for lower fuel prices.
