The recent Pally Speed Shear held late last month has raised an amazing $7000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Over 80 shearers from around Australia and New Zealand headed out to the Pally Pub for the inaugural event which saw Delungra shearer Tom Retallack take out the $15,000 first prize with lots of locals experiencing their first ever speed shear.
Organiser Heather Bearman says despite heavy rain at Rosedale the day before the Speed shear, Stafford & Graham Burey went above and beyond to keep the sheep dry and mud-free after their first truck became bogged requiring a change of trucks.
She says they couldn’t be happier with the money raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation totaling a huge $7,000 adding they couldn’t have pulled off such a great day without the amazing venue of Pally Pub & all of the sponsors & volunteers.
