The NSW Police Force is encouraging everyone to look out for their mates and loved ones this Australia Day long weekend, after launching their state-wide police operation.
Operation Australia Day 2025 commenced this morning and run until 11.59pm this Monday.
Double demerit points will apply for the duration of the operation for speeding, mobile phone, seatbelt, and motorcycle helmet offences.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Inspector Kelly Wixx says there’ll be a high visibility presence of police on the roads over the long weekend to cope with the large volume of visitors to the area coming for the Tamworth Music and Guyra Lamb and Potato Festivals
