The Open Gardens event held last weekend as part of the Sapphire City Festival celebrations was met with enormous success.
According to Susan Dolby from Down-to Earth Inverell Garden Group, approximately 450 people visited each garden, which enabled the organisation to donate $11,300 in funds raised to the local Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
The amount also includes a donation of $834 from the local Red Cross group plus $300 in donations from Stall Holders.
The event organisers have expressed their thanks to all visiting patrons as well as the garden hosts who by their generosity in opening their gardens, made the event possible.
