More than $100,000 worth of property has been stolen from the Transgrid zone substation on Fisher Rd in Inverell following a break-in sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Police were told staff locked and secured the location about 5:40pm on Tuesday, before returning for work at 6am on Wednesday, noticing all demountable buildings open, and shipping containers had been entered.
Access had been gained to the premises by cutting padlocks and as a result, 1700L of diesel, and a large quantity of various tools ranging from drills, welders, power tools, saws etc, were stolen.
Police and Forensic officers have been in attendance and processed the scene,
