O’Brien Retires from Police Force

by | Aug 28, 2025 | Police News | 0 comments

Long time Chief Inspector of Inverell Police Rowan O’Brien will clock off for the last time today after almost 37 years in the NSW Police Force.

Chief Inspector O’Brien joined the Police Force in September 1988, beginning at Moroubra and having stints in the Murrumbidgee area, and Bourke before transferring to Inverell in 2007 to take up the promotion of Inspector at Inverell Police Station.

Due to ill health, Inspector O’Brien went on leave in 2023 and was officially replaced by new Inspector of Inverell Police Blake Keating in March this year.

Chief Inspector O’Brien will be farewelled at Inverell Police Station at a formal march out parade followed by a private function in the township.
