Local Auctioneer Justin Oakenfull has missed out on making the top 10 at the Calgary Stampede International Livestock Auctioneer Championship held on Saturday.
Justin was one of 40 auctioneers from predominantly the U.S and Canada to compete at the annual event.
The territory sales manager based at Elders Inverell, won his place into the competition after winning the prestigious national title at the ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney in April.
Despite not making the top 10, Justin says he went well and was an incredible experience but admitted it was a lot different to the way they auction at home.
The 2024 competition was taken out by Montana’s Jace Thompson while the Reserve Champion was awarded to Idaho’s Eric Drees
