The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is urging residents to stay vigilant as heavy rains continue across the region with potential thunderstorms also forecast.
Residents are warned that increasing thunderstorms will pose a risk of heavy to locally intense rainfall, leading to flash flooding and local river rises, with NSW SES State Duty Commander, Assistant Commissioner Colin Malone saying it’s time for residents to prepare now by securing loose items around the yard, never park cars under trees or powerlines and if floods occur, never drive or walk through floodwater.
Mr Malone says those that come across a flooded road to turnaround and use an alternative route.
For help during a severe weather crisis, contact the NSW SES on 132 500 or Triple zero if the situation is life threatening.
