NRMA Insurance sent out one of their HELP response vehicles to Glen Innes over the weekend following the wild hailstorms which wreaked havoc around the town last weekend.
The vehicle is a mobile claims centre so customers can talk to the claims team face-to-face, lodge an insurance claim and receive immediate help.
Insurance Australia Group Limited, which incorporates NRMA Insurance, received 267 claims from customers in Glen Innes.
The majority of claims were for property damage caused by strong winds, hail and heavy rain that have uprooted trees and damaged roofs and windows.
NRMA Insurance Executive General Manager Claims Luke Gallagher encouraged everyone to make safety their number one priority with storms continuing to impact New South Wales adding if the weather is clear, take the opportunity to secure any loose items around properties, check elderly or vulnerable neighbours are safe, delay or reconsider travel and if possible, move vehicles undercover or away from trees or powerlines.
