The Northwest team has missed out on qualifying for the final of the CHS Girls Cricket Championship in Sydney after going down to Syndey East yesterday.
The team, featuring Inverell junior cricketers Hollie Woodbury and Georgie Lennord, went down by 24 runs which now relegates them to the play-off for 3rd which will be played today.
Despite the loss, the local girls continued to perform well with Georgie taking a catch off Hollie’s bowling and effecting a run out while Hollie claimed 2/13 during the Sydney East innings to restrict them to 103 but Northwest were unable to reach the target, being bowled out for 79.
Hollie has taken 11 wickets for the carnival with one game to come making her one of the stand-out performers at the carnival
