Local students have excelled at the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships at Yarra Glen in Victoria held last week
Two North West Athletes, competing with the NSW team, have come through with the goods becoming national champions.
Kayden Elliott of Glen Innes High School won the School Sport Australia gold medal in the 16-17 years 6km with a time of 21:46.00 while Mack Oxley of Armidale City Public School won the 12 years 3km with a time of 10:41.33
Also competing for NSW were Lachlan Cook of Coolah Central School who finished 6th in the 18-19 years 8km event, and Inverell’s Bella Griffin who finished 4th in the 15-16 years multiclass event and won silver medals in the NSW team multi class and in the 15/16 years multi class relay.
