Northern Tablelands Remains Out of Drought

by | Jan 20, 2026 | Agriculture, Weather | 0 comments

Production remains positive in the Northern Tablelands following the release of the December seasonal update from the Local Land Service.

The entire region remains in a non-drought category with the Dept of Primary Industries and regional Development suggesting this is likely to continue until the end of March.

The Service state rainfall during December was below average across the region with patchy storm rainfall providing some locations with higher totals adding follow up rainfall will be needed to maintain any improvement in conditions.

Producers are closely monitoring forecasts and outlooks to support pasture growth while managing the risks associated with heat and storm activity.

Meantime, plant greenness levels are near average to above average across most of the region for the October to December 2025 period.
