Northern Inland Academy of Sport 2024-25 Triathlon Program Opens

The Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) is has opened applications for the 2024-25 Triathlon Program.

Supported by Triathlon NSW and the NSW Office of Sport, this elite program targets young athletes aged 13 to 19 years (DOB 2006-2012), focusing on developing their tactical, technical, physiological, and psychological skills crucial for advancing through the National Athlete Pathway. Triathlon, an Olympic sport, presents a unique opportunity for athletes aiming for the highest level of competition.


Under the expert guidance of Head Coach Nikki Western, recipient of the Triathlon Australia Pathway Coach award, and Assistant Coach Sheena Carter, both accredited by Triathlon New South Wales, the NIAS Triathlon squad will offer intensive coaching sessions, regional training opportunities, and performance support including Sport Psychology, Nutrition, Fitness Assessments, and Strength & Conditioning.


“The NIAS Triathlon 2024-25 Program is designed to enhance physical literacy, develop strong motor patterns, and foster a love for the sport,” said Shona Eichorn, CEO of NIAS. “Athletes will participate in skills clinics, race camps, and compete in the Triathlon NSW/ACT Pathway Series, presented by Billigence.”
Selected athletes will benefit from:
Intensive coaching from accredited regional, guest, and state-level coaches
Technical and tactical skill development through regional training sessions

Performance support including sport psychology, nutrition, fitness assessments, and strength & conditioning
