McLean Care will have a new provider taking over next week with aged care organisation the RESPECT Group coming in from Tuesday.
A new service provider had been sought after McLean Care advised in February its intention to transition its business, citing a range of financial pressures facing aged care providers, particularly in regional areas, including complex compliance requirements, rising operating costs, labour shortages and the increasing cost of maintaining and upgrading facilities.
Inverell Shire Council Mayor Kate Dight says in her discussion with RESPECT CEO Jason Binder, the organisation will deliver a contemporised aged care facility to provide the best care possible for people, regardless of where they live.
Mayor Dight says RESPECT will also undertake a significant investment to the Inverell facility with a $17 million boost predominantly going towards its Dementia Ward with 139 single rooms to be established.
