Inverell Shire Council has new leadership following yesterday’s Mayoral elections.
For the first time in 12 years, former Mayor Paul Harmon has faced defeat in what is believed to have been a close vote with Cr and former Deputy Mayor Kate Dight elected as the new Inverell Shire Council Mayor.
Cr Dight served as Mr Harmon’s Deputy Mayor for the past 2 years, a position that has now been passed to Cr Jo Williams after serving council since 2021.
Cr Dight received the 2nd highest votes behind former Mayor Paul Harmon at the NSW Local Government elections which was held on the 14th September.
