The New England Northwest region have reason to celebrate after last night’s NSW State Business Awards held at Sydney’s International Convention Centre, hosted by Business NSW.
The event attracted an esteemed audience including Premier Chris Minns, Small Business Minister Steve Kamper, and over 600 attendees representing more than 130 standout businesses across the state.
Among the numerous accolades awarded was the Outstanding Visitor Economy Collaboration Award which was taken out by Armidale Regional Council and its flagship event, the Big Chill Festival, which, now in its 4th year, has grown from a grassroots gathering celebrating local food, music, and craft beers to a major cultural event that attracted 3,800 attendees in 2024.
Other finalists in the region included Glenrac for Outstanding Community Organisation, Glen Innes Business Chamber for Outstanding Local Chamber and Tingha’s own Merry Little Elderberry for Excellence in Micro Business.
Regional Director of Business NSW for New England Northwest Diane Gray extended her congratulations not only to the team behind the Big Chill Festival but also to all finalists from the New England North West who showcased remarkable dedication and made the region proud.
