Sapphire City Gymnasts have received a jump start for their club thanks to a grant to purchase a life-saving defibrillator device through the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program.
Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan met with club president Ashley Bonsor and head coach Debi Hankins to deliver the funding saying having a defibrillator available following cardiac arrest can be the difference between life and death.
Mr Moylan congratulated the Sapphire City Gymnastics club in being proactive in applying for a grant and being successful in securing a defibrillator adding he hoped they never have to use it.
Club president Ashley Bonsor says they have around 35 members whose extended family often come to club events so having a defibrillator on the premises eases everyone’s mind.
