Netball Courts to Receive a Facelift

by | Dec 19, 2024 | Community, Sport | 0 comments

Inverell Shire Council has welcomed a $1.4 million Federal grant to replace 6 Netball Courts at the Inverell Sporting Complex.

This is the first time Council has received funding in almost 4 years, with council receiving almost $500,000 in 2021 under the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund to replace 2 asphalt netball show courts at the complex.

Inverell Shire Mayor Kate Dight says the 6 netball courts are experiencing cracking of the sub base which in turn is causing the asphalt to crack and flake off, with the rate of deterioration of the courts resulting in the courts being withdrawn from use due to a risk of injury to players.

Mayor Dight says netball players will appreciate the upgrade of their courts and is consulting with the local netball association to arrange a suitable time to carry out the works
