The New England Times “Best of the Best’” online competition has come to a close with businesses in the Inverell Shire claiming wins on 3 out of the 6 categories that were up for nomination.

The categories won included Best Value for Money going to a Fruit and Vege business in Gilgai, and Best Employer going to a Childcare Service in Inverell.

However, the Best Community Supporter category was taken out by Fernlee Station in Ashford, with Shire locals paying tribute to the Station for its many contributions to volunteer programs such as Rotary, Ashford’s Food Bank, Drought Angels as well as the Aussie Hayrunners.

Publication Editor Raphaella Crosby congratulated all category winners, reiterating how New Englanders love supporting small and special businesses that are an essential part of the tapestry of New England life.
