National Transport Museum New Additions

by | Jul 17, 2024 | Arts & Culture, Community, Education | 0 comments

The National Transport Museum has recently welcomed rare and unique additions to its collections inviting patrons to observe their latest acquisitions.

Two vehicles have been added to the museum’s catalogue of collectables including a Porsche Boxter as well as a rare 1986 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit, with 2 more vehicles scheduled to arrive at the end of the month.

However, the museum was also able to acquire one of its rarest vehicles to add to its collection to date, in the form of a 1994 Indian Prototype Motorcycle.

Volunteer Rob Smith from the Transport Museum says the motorcycle was intended for mass production however the manufacturer did not go ahead.

According to Mr Smith, the motorcycle, a Century V-Twin Chief, is 1 of only 2 around the world.

The prototype motorcycle was developed in the hopes of reviving the Indian Motocycle marque, featuring an entirely unique engine that was CNC milled from billet aluminium alloy and unusually it features three valves per cylinder.

The new additions are available to view at the National Transport Museum on Rifle Range Rd, Inverell from 9am to 4pm 7 days per week.
