National Road Survey

by | Jun 25, 2024 | Community | 0 comments

Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton is calling for resident in the Shire, which includes parts of the Gwydir Shire region, to nominate a road or intersection in need of upgrade through a national road survey.

Shadow Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Tony Pasin who launched the survey earlier this month, says the Albanese Labor Government had allowed the national road network to fall into disrepair with billions of dollars in funding cuts and delays since coming to Government.

Mr Coulton says roads throughout the Parkes electorate aren’t receiving the maintenance and upgrades they need, and the impacts of Federal Government funding cuts – particularly to local councils – were being felt by road users and residents firsthand.

He says as someone who regularly travels across hundreds of kilometres within the Parkes electorate, he knows first-hand how terrible some parts of the road network have become.

The survey, available at www.research.nwww.research.net/r/2HRHBV9et, will be open until 5pm, 30 August
