NSW Health reports that Monkey Pox is on the increase around the state and are urging the community to know the symptoms.
Symptoms of mpox include rashes, pimple-like lesions or sores, particularly in areas that are hard to see such as the genitals, anus or buttocks, anal pain, ulcers, lesions or sores in the mouth, a fever, headaches, muscle aches and back aches, chills, exhaustion and swollen lymph nodes.
Authorities say Mpox can spread to others until the lesions crust over and fresh skin covers the area.
NSW Health is encouraging people eligible for vaccination including sexually active gay and bisexual men and their sexual partners, as well as sex workers and their sexual partners to see their GP, look out for symptoms and get vaccinated.
