Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan will take up the fight for nurses following the changes made by NSW Health and Hunter New England Health to the Rural Workforce Incentive Scheme.
Mr Moylan says several local nurses had contacted him recently saying they had lost their current scalings on the incentive scheme which was put in place to attract nurses and allied health care staff to regional areas.
With the incentive payments being rescaled, Mr Moylan says many local nurses and allied health workers will lose around $20,000 a year.
He says he will make it a priority to discuss the matter with the government when parliament next sits, adding this move could see nurses move interstate.
