Member for the Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan has questioned how this week’s National Census has been rolled out across the electorate after several constituents informed him, they hadn’t received any information.
Mr Moylan says constituents were concerned about receiving a $364 fine for not completing the census.
He confirmed he had people come into offices in Inverell, Moree and Armidale as well as at a function in Glen Innes saying they hadn’t received anything in their letterboxes or email and didn’t know what to do, adding elderly folk were also very confused.
The Local MP says there is a two-week grace period to complete the form and provided advice to those who didn’t receive a letter in the mail stressing there is two ways you can complete the cenus.
Those that didn’t complete the census can call the census Hotline on 1800 181 227 or log on yourself to the ABS Census website and complete the Census Survey.
