New Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan says health services in the region will be his number 1 priority as he commences his role.

Speaking on STA FM this morning, Mr Moylan says he was amazed to find the Inverell hospital has the same capacity in terms of beds as Moree hospital but only offers half the services.

Mr Moylan says he was also fascinated to learn that the majority of work conducted by Inverell paramedics is patient transfer to Armidale due to a lack of services at Inverell hospital.

He says he’ll be requesting a meeting with Hunter New England Health to discuss these matters.
