Moylan: Give Communities A Fair Go

by | Aug 14, 2025 | Community, Environment | 0 comments

Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan is concerned proposed renewable energy projects will be given the green light to be set up in the region without any regard of his constituents concerns or opinions.

Speaking on STA FM this week, Mr Moylan says a Bill was rushed through Parliament last week giving the NSW Environment Minister Penny Sharpe more power to tick a box and give a development the go ahead in Renewable Energy Zones even if communities don’t want it or if it’s not passing muster through the planning system.

Mr Moylan says he along with member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson, Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman and member for Bathurst Paul Toole all spoke against the Bill because their electorates are impacted by these renewable projects.

He’s calling on the government to give communities more fairness and give them an opportunity to have a say.
