Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan believes it’s a huge mistake by the NSW government to welcome the ISIS brides and their children from Syria.
It follows NSW Premier Chris Minns saying possibly a third of the 34 cohort would go to NSW, emphazising that the government would take care of the education of returning children ensuring they are safe and educated in an environment that reflects Australian values.
Mr Moylan says if someone decides to travel overseas and join a terrorist organisation that committed appalling atrocities, shouldn’t be welcomed back adding the government’s first job is to protect its citizens.
He says Mr Minns shouldn’t be going down this track.
