Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan has slammed new legislation introduced by the NSW government in relation to the Natural Resources Access Regulator or NRAR labeling it revenue raising adding Premier Chris Minns is not a friend of regional NSW.
Speaking on STA FM yesterday, Mr Moylan says if this legislation is passed, it will allow the Regulator to retrospectively commence civil proceedings against farmers who may or may not have breached the water legislation, deliberately or by accident, therefore allowing the government to sue farmers.
Mr Moylan says the legislation is currently in the Upper House and is expected to reach the Lower House next week adding it’s a Bill that has had no media coverage and has the possibility of doing great harm to farming families.
He says this legislation is a slap in the face for regional NSW farming families.
