Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan has put small businesses in the spotlight by delivering a Notice of Motion in NSW Parliament.
With October being NSW Small Business Month, Mr Moylan highlighted the important role small businesses have in the NSW economy after speaking in front of Parliament yesterday, adding there are approximately 850,000 small businesses in NSW which comprises approximately 97 per cent of all NSW business, employing over 1.8 million people.
Mr Moylan says Small Businesses are more than just entities in enterprise; they are the heart of our communities, providing jobs, services and unique local character.
Mr Moylan has commended small business owners across the Northern Tablelands for the services they provide the community, and with Christmas just around the corner, encourages people across the region to continue supporting small local businesses.
