Crowds by the thousands turned out for this year’s Motormania held yesterday at the Pioneer Village.
Mated with perfect weather conditions, event organiser Spanner Tanner estimated 3000 patrons flocked to the village to take in the market atmosphere of the many stallholders as well as view over 250 vehicles of all types on display.

The Sapphire City Motorsports Club also donated over $13,000 to local organisations on the day with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and Inverell VRA Rescue Squad given $5000 each, and $1000 donated to the Inverell RSPCA, Women’s Refuge and community radio station STA FM.

It is estimated that between 3-$5000 was received in gate takings, making it one of the most received in the event’s history, Spanner affirming the entire takings will be donated directly to the Pioneer Village.
