Former Wallabies Captain to Visit Inverell

by | Jun 30, 2026 | Sport

Former Australian Wallabies captain Sterling Mortlock will be the special guest of the Inverell Highlanders at their Old Boys Day next month.

Mortlock, who also played for the ACT Brumbies, and Melbourne Rebels, earned 80 Test caps and scored 489 points, and was the first player to score over 1,000 points in Super Rugby.

Club Secretary John Hodgens says the Club will be celebrating 20 years since their first Central North premiership and will have Mr Mortlock as a guest at a special brunch at Rugby Park ahead their Round 12 clash against the Moree Bulls – the team they beat in that Grand Final.

Mr Hodgens says the day will also include the official opening of the new Women’s changerooms
