Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan has questioned whether the funding to curb youth crime in Moree is getting the community value for money.
Speaking on STA FM on Tuesday morning, Mr Moylan estimates Moree will receive $100 million per year from the State government adding if pouring more money into the situation doesn’t improve the youth crime issue, ‘then we’re wasting our time.’
Mr Moylan says there’s many community groups and non-government organisations in Moree who all are trying to address the crime situation, but it seems they’re competing to get funding and perhaps losing track of what they’re designed to do.
He says doesn’t know why the state government funding is Moree centric and thinks the money could be spent on more police numbers across the Northern Tablelands and the regional NSW.
