Inverell Shire Council have resolved to install more smoke-free signage up on rubbish bins and furniture in the CBD following Wednesday’s Council meeting.
It follows local resident Gary Newley addressing Council at last month’s council meeting, raising concerns relating to smoking in the Inverell Central Business District
Inverell Shire Mayor Kate Dight says Council will avoid putting stenciling on pavements to keep the CBD attractive after extensive works had been done a few years ago.
Mayor Dight says Council will use media broadcasts on STA FM and the Tourist Centre Signage Board to promote and enforce the smoke free areas in the CBD.
She’s Council and local police will enforce the smoke-free areas.
