A local businessman is kickstarting his charity run as part of a fundraiser called Charlie’s Run 4 Kids, raising money for children with childhood cancer.
Mitchell Johnson from MacIntrye Hotbread will commence his 150km journey from Seal Rocks to Newcastle this morning.
Mr Johnson says he’s been in training since December and has been running around 12-15 km a day to prepare for the event.
He says this year’s event will be raising funds for two girls struck down by cancer, Luna and Evelyn from Newcastle adding he became involved with cause back in 2017
Donations can be made at Charlie’s Run 4 Kids Facebook page or at MacIntyre Hotbread while raffle tickets are also available at the bakery with first prize being $5,000
