The Joey’s Mini World Cup has been hailed as the best tournament held since its inception in 2010.
Organiser Heinrich Haussler says a total of 52 teams from around NSW, Adelaide and QLD came up to Inverell for the 4-day tournament
The Newcastle team Valentine F.C claimed both the U19s and U16s title with the latter winning a penalty shootout against the NIAS team featuring Inverell goalkeeper Sam Burns while the Adelaide Jaguars took home the Women’s title.
Mr Haussler confirmed the event will return to Inverell next year will be looking to have around 70-80 teams for next year’s tournament.
He encouraged the community to come on board, whether that be in sponsorship or volunteering themselves to assist in running of the Mini World Cup, adding he believes it will be a bigger operation next year.
