Music is defined as an art form and as with all art forms, it will appeal to different people depending on the genre and their introduction to it.
I was introduced to music at an early age and instantly took a liking to it.
From my early introduction, I grew to like and appreciate different styles of music. I found that it had an impact on my well-being and therefore my happiness. It was and still is therapeutic.
My introduction to STA FM was through " Station Surfing" because I did not like what was being dished up by the commercial stations.
Great music and great people was my initial impression and were appreciative of the fact that the presenters encouraged feedback mainly through requests. At the time, I was working in a reasonably stressful environment and found that the music had a calming effect.
The presenters I had spoken to obviously loved what they were doing and it appeared to have a positive impact on their personalities. With their encouragement, I became a presenter on STA FM.
I currently host two programs on STA FM. Variety Show on Wednesday from 6 pm to 9 pm, and Mike at Three on Thursday 3 pm to 6 pm.
During these programs, I play a variety of music, mainly 60s, 70s, 80s pop/rock folk and country (contemporary and some older styles).
I enjoy taking requests. It provides feedback and these discussion's with the listener reinforces that we are able to make a difference an impact within the community.
