An evening gathering will be held at Glen Innes tonight to commemorate farmers that have taken their own lives as well as support men’s Mental Health.
GLENRAC will be hosting the inaugural “Men’s Night Out: Supporting our Mates” event which will raise awareness towards Men’s Mental Health as well as let farmers and their partners know they are not alone, with GLENRAC CEO Kylie Falconer saying the evening is not just about the topic of suicide, but also for those who are struggling with their mental wellbeing and needing additional tools to tackle mental health and wellbeing issues.
Guest speaker on the evening Warren Davies, also known as the Unbreakable Farmer, will be sharing his stories on how he tackled issues surrounding drought, floods as well as issues he overcame from his own farm, saying mental health and in particular suicide can be heavy issues to discuss and will hope his experiences will help others going through the same issues.
The event will be held at the Glen Innes and District Services Club from 6pm tonight, with bookings required by calling 6732 1355.
