A Guyra resident is one of four VRA Rescue NSW volunteers who have been named finalists in the 2025 Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards.
Wayne Mendes has been named for the accolade which recognizes volunteers for their dedication, selflessness, and commitment to serving their communities.
He has been an active member of the group since 1986 and has held the position of Deputy Captain and Captain and was named Guyra’s Citizen of the Year earlier this year.
Wayne’s ongoing mentorship and drive from over 40 years to VRA Rescue NSW has given shape to the organisation’s direction.
