A man will remain behind bars after being refused bail following an incident where he allegedly seriously injured another man and threatening police in Inverell yesterday morning.
About 2am, police were called to a motel on Otho Street, following reports of an assault and upon arrival, officers found that a 24-year-old man had been allegedly assaulted with a wine glass by a 41-year-old man.
The 24-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Inverell Base Hospital with serious head and facial injuries before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition where he remains.
The 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene before being taken to Inverell Police Station where it’s alleged he made threats towards several officers.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, reckless wounding and two counts of intimidate police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm with the matter to go before Inverell Local Court on the 28th of May.
The man will front court on Thursday via video link for separate domestic violence and assault matters
