A man facing several stalking charges in Uralla has been refused bail in Armidale Local Court, with the Judge determining the man would not attend future court proceedings
The Northern Daily Leader reports Stephen Ronald Hollis is alleged to have been behind the wheel of a silver Holden Commodore that was reported multiple times in alleged stalking incidents around Uralla in February.
Hollis has pleaded not guilty to 6 stalking charges and had his bail application denied on Monday with police alleging he posed a risk of not appearing in court, further offences to the community and trying to influence witnesses.
Bail conditions offered by Hollis’s defence of staying away from Uralla, offers of accommodation for Hollis away from Uralla and reporting to Casino Police station 3 times a week was knocked back by Judge Mark Richardson who stated Hollis would likely flee court proceedings.
The matter has been adjourned to June.
