Man Charged with Aggravated Break and Enter in Narrabri

A man has been charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter in the state’s North West Slopes region yesterday.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were called to Violet Street, Narrabri, responding to reports the resident – a man in his 30s – had woken about 3am yesterday (Thursday 27 August 2026), to find a man inside the home.

Police have been told when the resident confronted the man, he allegedly threatened the resident with a machete before taking an e-bike.

Officers will also allege the resident was again threatened later in the day when the alleged intruder was seen on Violet Street.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 20-year-old man on Violet Street, Narrabri, about 5pm the same day.

During a search, an amount of cannabis was located in the man’s possession.

He was taken to Narrabri Police Station, where he was charged with three offences,

  • Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed
  • Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), and
  • Possess prohibited drug.

The man has been refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 today (Friday 28 August 2026).
